While we patiently wait for Beyoncé’s new album, the pop icon has something to hold fans over. Queen B has recorded an original song for the Epic soundtrack.

“Rise Up” was written by Beyoncé and Sia (“Diamonds”) and produced by Hit-Boy (“Bow Down”) and Chase N. Cashe (“Drop the World”). The track will be released by Bey’s label, Columbia Records, this month.

In addition to the soundtrack, Beyoncé lends her voice to Queen Tara in Twentieth Century Fox Animation and Blue Sky Studios’ 3D CG adventure comedy. The film hits theaters nationwide on May 24.

Pharrell also does double duty on vocals for a duet, with additional features from Wiz Khalifa and — surprise! — Beyoncé and Michelle Williams. “It’s not a Destiny’s Child track, it’s me featuring Beyoncé and Michelle,” Rowland says of the latter collaboration, the trio’s first since the Pharrell-produced “Nuclear” for January’s Destiny’s Child compilation “Love Songs.” As for the song’s sound? “Soulllllll,” she says with a laugh.

Fi (Fire)“: When introducing this, The-Dream said, “Fire’s in parentheses, because that would be the non-ghetto title. Beyoncé‘s on this.” She sounds soft, airy, as if from a hallucination: “I’ve never been high, but tonight I might try it. I’ve been such a good girl, but tonight I might try it.” She name-checks D’usse cognac, obviously, and says “I’m so trill” and casually mentions “boppers.” All right, we get it, you’re from Houston, Bey. Dream runs his vocals through every ProTools filter, as if in a carwash, first through A$AP and then Nineties effects – up, down, red fish, blue fish, one fish, two fish. And, yes, in the middle of everything, there’s marimba.

Beyoncé is going “Back to Black” with some help from André 3000. The pop icon and OutKast rapper are teaming up for a remake of the late Amy Winehouse’s classic.

According to E! News, the cover will appear on the soundtrack to the upcoming Baz Luhrmann-directed film The Great Gatsby. The original song was recorded by Winehouse for her 2006 Grammy-winning album Back to Black.

Jay-Z is producing the soundtrack, which blends contemporary music with jazz and hip-hop. “It’s a very different take on ‘Back to Black,’” said a rep for Interscope Records, who will release the album.

This is not B and André’s first time working together. They previously collaborated on “Party” off 2011’s 4.

The Great Gatsby stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, and Tobey Maguire, and hits theaters nationwide on May 10.
