Via MTV.com: Miguel released his sophomore album Kaleidoscope Dream less than two months ago, which means that he’s still got videos to shoot and singles to promote, but right now he’s taking some time out to record with Beyoncé. Miguel got the call from Beyoncé’s camp late last week, just before he hit the Powerhouse stage in Philadelphia, and he tells MTV News that he’s “ready to ride the wave” with Queen B.

“I just got word that I’ll be in [the studio] with Beyoncé tomorrow which is amazing,” Miguel said after performing Friday night (October 26). “I heard it from my team, and I was like, ‘Are you serious?’ ‘Are you sure?’ ‘Are we talking about the Beyoncé? And after taking a second to confirm and double confirm and triple confirm, I’m excited to hear the direction of her new material, and hopefully come up with something that’s really special and really showcases her perspective.”

The R&B singer/songwriter admitted that he was going into the studio session a little blind, but also with a completely open mind. “I think being a part of someone else’s creative process is all about having your surf board ready and just [being] ready to ride that wave,” he said, explaining his plan for working with Beyoncé. “I don’t really know what she sees for herself or what direction she’d like to go with this album and I think that’s the exciting part about it. You just ride the wave and see where it goes, so I’m really excited. ”

“She’s definitely the most dominant female [artist]— dedicated and driven,” he added. “I’m such a huge fan so it’s gonna be really cool.”

Judging from Miguel’s Tuesday night tweet, which was accompanied by a photo of himself and Beyoncé in casual attire, things seem to be working out well so far. “…Woah. creating for Virgo’s all weekend,” he wrote from the studio. The tweet was later deleted but not before B’s fans picked up on it, giving them hope that her new album will arrive soon enough.
